The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 33 calls from Aug. 28 to Sept. 4, some of which included:
- two 911 Act calls,
- one abandoned vehicle,
- one animal call,
- two assaults,
- one breach of peace,
- one false alarm,
- one impaired operation of a motor vehicle,
- four Mental Health Act calls,
- three mischiefs,
- one missing person,
- one roadside suspension,
- one suspicious person,
- three thefts,
- two traffic collisions,
- four traffic offenses,
- one trespassing,
- one uttering threats,
- two wellbeing checks,
- two prisoners and
- one Child, Youth and Family Services Act Call.
Dangerous weapon
On Sept. 4, the Canora RCMP were dispatched to a disturbance call in Preeceville. The caller reported a man inside the home was trying to hit her with a slipper. Police attended the scene and spoke to the caller. The investigation is ongoing.
Vehicle breaks front window
The Canora RCMP were called on Aug. 30 to a business in Preeceville to investigate a mischief. The caller reported an unknown vehicle drove away in the night after hitting and breaking the front window. The investigation is ongoing.
Impaired driver
The Canora RCMP stopped a vehicle outside on 1 Street NW in Preeceville on Aug. 30. The female driver showed signs of alcohol consumption and was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The woman provided two breath samples of 150mg% and 140mg%. The woman was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving while over 80mg%. The woman’s drivers’ licence was suspended and her vehicle impounded for 30 days.
Seeing things?
On Aug. 29, the Canora RCMP were dispatched to a residence in Canora for a disturbance call. The caller reported there were little people in the kitchen hanging from the fruit in his bowl and won’t leave after being told to do so. Police attended and determined the caller required medical attention. EMS took the caller to the hospital.
Mental health call
The Canora RCMP apprehended a woman on a mental health warrant on Aug. 28. The woman was transported to Yorkton Hospital by EMS.
