INDIAN HEAD – Wheels for Wellness Indian Head Inc. officially launched its community shuttle service Sept. 1.
“We are confident that this new service will be both welcomed and well-utilized by citizens of Indian Head and the surrounding region,” said Marg Ollett, president of Wheels for Wellness Indian Head Inc.
Wheels for Wellness Indian Head Inc. is a non-profit community entity.
The mission of Wheels for Wellness is to provide affordable, reliable and safe transportation to residents of Indian Head and surrounding farms and communities who need to attend medical and wellness appointments in Regina, Saskatoon, Weyburn, Moose Jaw, Melville, Yorkton and other locations as required. The service will operate on a donation basis and will be delivered entirely by volunteers using a dedicated shuttle vehicle maintained by the organization.
“The community response to this project has been overwhelmingly positive,” added Ollett.
“The support from local residents, businesses, and the Town of Indian Head has been outstanding. To date, the organization has secured $50,000 in donations, including $25,000 from a local estate and $25,000 from individual donors. Our goal is to purchase the 2025 Chrysler Pacifica Select that we are currently leasing, and we are actively developing a sponsorship program and applying for a variety of grants to ensure the long-term sustainability of this service.”
To book a ride to a medical or wellness appointment, individuals may call 306-660-9677 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily. After hours, messages may be left and a dispatcher will promptly return the call.
