A Brandon man found guilty of Manslaughter in the death of a 2-month-old girl on the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, has made another court appearance.
In January of 2016, Virden RCMP received a report of an infant in distress at a home on the reserve, and she later died in hospital.
After a lengthy investigation, 34-year-old Keifer Mecas was arrested in January of 2023.
In Brandon Court of King’s Bench Monday, Mecas was remanded in custody for his next court date on October 14.
