The Melville Millionaires blanked the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 4–0 Tuesday night at the CN Community Centre to improve their preseason record to 3 and 1.
Melville surged to a three-goal first period, with 2008-born forward Carter Wingert scoring on a 2-on-1 rush and again after a puck ricocheted off Jase Wareham. Jackson Lee added the other opening-frame tally, and Boston Harkness capped the night with a second-period marker.
Millionaires netminders Noah Sinagowitz and Kael Svenson combined for a 22 save shutout. Across the way, Jase Wareham stopped 15 of the first 19 shots before relinquishing duties to Haden Heide, who turned aside all 15 third-period attempts in the Wolverines crease.
Melville concludes its preseason with a home-and-home against the Yorkton Terriers—Friday at the CN Community Centre and Saturday at Westland Arena. Waywayseecappo heads south to face the NAHL’s Minot Minotauros on Friday and Saturday.
