STARS and Bunge are continuing their partnership with the launch of the 2026 STARS calendar, a fundraising tradition now in its 34th year.
The calendar highlights the mission and people behind the non-profit air ambulance service while raising funds to ensure life-saving critical care remains accessible across Western Canada.
The 2026 edition features the stories of three Very Important Patients, five crew members — including Orion the therapy dog — along with three helicopters and an image showcasing community engagement. Organizers say the striking photography captures themes of innovation, resilience and community.
Dr. John Froh, president and CEO of STARS, said the calendar reflects the organization’s mission in action.
“Behind every image is a patient, a crew member, a moment that mattered,” Froh said. “We’re grateful for Bunge’s continued partnership and generous sponsorship, which has made this annual tradition possible.”
Bunge, a global agribusiness company, is the presenting print sponsor and has covered all printing costs for the 2026 edition. With this contribution, the company’s total giving to STARS has surpassed $2.9 million in sponsorship and support.
Kyle Jeworski, Head of Canada for Bunge, said the company is proud to play a role in supporting the non-profit’s work.
“Our longstanding relationship helps ensure that those who need emergency medical services in rural and remote areas can access them in a safe and timely manner, including our employees, our customers and their families.”
This year’s calendar also includes a special tribute to Dr. Gregory Powell, who passed away in April. Powell was the founder of STARS and is remembered as a visionary who transformed emergency medical care in Canada.
His legacy, Froh said, continues to inspire the organization’s work and is reflected throughout the calendar.
Calendars are available for purchase through STARS, with proceeds going directly toward operations that provide emergency medical care to patients across Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba.
