YORKTON — Tourism Yorkton is celebrating another busy season, welcoming visitors from across Canada and around the world.
The city’s information centre reported more than 190 guests from three continents in recent months, a reflection of Yorkton’s motto: “Where Good Things Happen.”
Travelers stopped in from provinces including British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Quebec. International guests also arrived from countries such as Brazil, Mexico, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, Sweden and Vietnam.
For many visitors, the Yorkton centre was their first introduction to Saskatchewan. Staff say they are proud to showcase the province’s landscapes, history and culture, and the guest book is filled with positive messages.
Notes include comments like “Lovely visitor centre & very helpful tourism office” from Yellowknife, “Beautiful!!” from Wisconsin, and “Thanks for the maps” from Germany.
Tourism Yorkton says those small interactions help build a stronger connection between the city, the province and the people who travel through.
