SWAN RIVER – A 41-year-old man wanted for manslaughter has been arrested after a brief foot chase with RCMP officers in Swan River.
Police say officers were called to a home on 2nd Avenue South around 1:10 p.m. on October 6 after receiving a tip that Tyrone Guiboche, who had an outstanding warrant for manslaughter and breaching conditions, was hiding inside.
After speaking with the homeowner, officers were given permission to search the residence.
Guiboche was found in a back room with another man but took off running as police tried to arrest him.
A short pursuit followed, and RCMP say a Conducted Energy Weapon was used to get him to comply.
During the arrest, Guiboche allegedly continued to resist with two officers suffered minor injuries as a result.
Guiboche faces several charges, including two counts each of assaulting a police officer and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
He also remains charged with manslaughter and failing to attend court.
Swan River RCMP continue to investigate.
