YORKTON — The storm that hit east-central Saskatchewan during the Thanksgiving long weekend caused a number of power failures in the Yorkton area.
A notification issued at 12:18 a.m. said crews were dispatched and were determining the cause and repair time for an outage reported southwest of Yorkton and in surrounding areas. The power-restored notification was issued at 5:16 a.m.
Another outage notification came in at 11:33 p.m. for the east side of Yorkton. SaskPower said at 1:32 a.m. that power had been restored.
Then at 12:54 a.m., SaskPower said crews were dispatched to an outage in Rhein. Power was restored at 6:12 a.m.
SaskPower crews were also called to an outage in Endeavour, Hinchcliffe, Lady Lake, Stenen, Sturgis, Tadmore, Usherville and surrounding rural areas. The outage notice was at 11:51 p.m., and the most recent update at 2:06 a.m. said crews were still working to restore power.
The rainfall warning that was issued for the Yorkton area and other east-central communities has been lifted.
