YORKTON — A 51-year-old man from Yorkton has been charged with second-degree murder following the death of a Winnipeg man earlier this month.
On Oct. 7 at about 3:10 p.m., Yorkton RCMP received a report of a deceased man outside a residence on Victoria Avenue in Yorkton. Officers responded immediately and secured the scene for further investigation.
As the death was considered suspicious, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took over the investigation.
The deceased has been identified as 51-year-old Curtis Gilman Bourassa of Winnipeg, Man. His family has been notified.
As a result of the continued investigation, 51-year-old Henry Wayne Chartrand of Yorkton was arrested on Oct. 11. He is charged with second-degree murder under Criminal Code.
Chartrand appeared in Yorkton Provincial Court on Oct. 14.
The investigation by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes remains ongoing.
