KAMSACK — A call for service in the RM of Cote last week has led to multiple drug and weapon charges for a 49-year-old.
On October 9 at around 10:30 p.m., Kamsack RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a residence.
Officers arrested 49-year-old Trevor Chernoff and noted several firearms and other suspicious items.
The following day, RCMP executed a search warrant at the property where they seized ten firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, suspected cocaine and psilocybin and additional drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation, Chernoff faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, ten counts of careless storage of firearms, one count of careless storage of ammunition and two counts of assault.
Chernoff is scheduled to appear in Kamsack Provincial Court on October 28.
