PREECEVILLE — The wheat crop fundraiser that was seeded on May 21 was harvested on Sept. 27 with many volunteers contributing to the successful crop. The fundraiser crop located on the outskirts of Preeceville will benefit the Preeceville Community Hall bathroom renovations.
Priority seeds (Dylan and Ty Myhr) provided the herbicide; Pioneer Canora, donated part of the fertilizer; Conway Brodziak did the fungicide application; Dean Serdachny, donated fungicide; Brett Meberg provided the harrows; the RM of Preeceville the picked rocks, the Tonn Farms provided the wheat seed, did all the seeding, provided the herbicide application (sprayer), desiccated wheat before harvest and donated chemical for that(sprayer), harvested the crop (combine, grain cart) and hauled grain into elevator with two semis, and trailers.
John and Carol Holizki of Hoterra Farms generously donated the land again for the fundraiser.
The hall committee provided supper in the field on September 27 for Corwin Tonn and his crew for thanking them for their major contributions to the fundraiser crop.
