YORKTON — Legacy Co-op has announced $13,558.53 in donations to local community organizations, made possible through community participation in Fuel Good Day 2025.
On Sept. 16, at Legacy Co-op Yorkton Palliser Way, Yorkton West Broadway, Kamsack, Churchbridge and Theodore locations, community members filled up their tanks, knowing 10 cents from every litre of fuel sold would support local causes.
This year’s Fuel Good Day donations were dedicated to enhancing organizations within the Parkland area, including The Wildlife Rescue Society of Saskatchewan, Churchbridge Aquatic Centre, Creative Kids Canada and Theodore ABC Daycare.
In co-ordination with Fuel Good Day, each community recipient held a barbecue at Legacy Co-op Fuel Good Day locations. Every event was a success, with excellent weather conditions making the day perfect for Fueling Good, the organization said in a news release.
The Wildlife Rescue Society of Saskatchewan received $6,829.03 from fuel sales, drink sales, barbecue sales and Pump it Up donations. The funds will go toward supporting their provincial Wild Line and developing a new children’s program called the Wild Child.
The Churchbridge Aquatic Centre received $2,032.45 from fuel sales and barbecue donations, which will help fundraise for a new pool liner for the community’s public pool.
Creative Kids Canada received $1,969.80 through a combination of fuel sales, drink sales, Pump it Up donations and barbecue proceeds. The funds will help children in the Kamsack area access dance lessons, art classes, music lessons and other creative opportunities.
Theodore ABC Daycare received $2,727.25 from fuel sales and barbecue donations. The funds will be used to renovate their facilities to increase both capacity and functionality.
Legacy Co-op extended its thanks to community members, organizations and team members for their continued support.
