YORKTON – McDonald’s restaurants in Yorkton and Melville are teaming up with the Yorkton Branch of SaskAbilities to launch the first-ever McDonald’s Coffee Day for Camp Easter Seal.
The event will take place on Tuesday, December 2, with a portion of proceeds from every McCafé coffee and soft drink sold going directly to support Camp Easter Seal.
Each summer, more than 600 children, youth and adults with disabilities participate in Camp Easter Seal’s programs, which focus on building confidence, fostering friendships and promoting independence in a barrier-free environment.
It costs approximately $2,000 to send one camper to Camp Easter Seal; however, thanks to donations and community partnerships, campers can attend free of charge.
Local McDonald’s franchisee Vishal Sukhadiya said the partnership was an easy choice.
“SaskAbilities and Camp Easter Seal make such a big, positive impact on so many families in Saskatchewan,” Sukhadiya said. “We’re thrilled to host our first Coffee Day for Camp Easter Seal and help get more people to camp.”
Aleks Hoeber, regional director for the Yorkton Branch of SaskAbilities, said the community’s involvement makes a lasting difference.
“The funds raised will allow us to continue providing experiences that foster new friendships and create lifetime memories,” Hoeber said. “We invite everyone to join us in making a meaningful difference.”
Funds raised from the event will support programming and accessibility upgrades, ensuring campers continue to enjoy the life-changing experiences Camp Easter Seal provides.
Community members are encouraged to visit one of the participating McDonald’s locations in Yorkton or Melville on December 2 or place a pre-order and arrange for delivery to participate in the fundraiser.
Participating McDonald’s locations include:
- 94 Broadway St. W, Yorkton
- 207 Broadway St. E, Yorkton
- 240 Hamilton Rd., Yorkton
- 290 Prince William Dr., Melville
