PREECEVILLE — Ratepayers in the Rural Municipality of Preeceville cast their ballots on Oct. 22. The majority of ratepayers welcomed Reg Yaremchuk's election as the new reeve.
Yaremchuk received 133 votes while his opponent received 77 votes.
“There was a total of 211 ballots cast, with one ballot spoiled,” said Lisa Peterson, administrator.
Yaremchuk had to resign as a councillor to run for the reeve position. He will take his oath to office at the council's first meeting on Nov. 12., where discussion will focus on the by-election to fill the vacant council seat in Division 5.
