Our trusty doorbell camera lit up in the middle of the night, and I braced myself for another wildlife encounter. The last time, it was a wasp—buzzing and crawling across the lens like it owned the place. But this time, our surprise guest was a bit furrier.
Yes, a mouse.
There it was, caught on camera, darting around the front door like it was casing the joint. I couldn’t believe it. I’m sure it wasn’t Mickey’s cheerful little friend, and frankly, I’d prefer he stayed far, far away.
These little creatures seem determined to find a way in, but I’m having none of it. Between sealing up tiny gaps and setting deterrents, I feel like I’m running a fortress instead of a home. Who knew “home security” would include defending against nature’s smallest invaders?
I honestly never thought I’d be woken up so many times by nature via my doorbell camera. First the wasp, now a mouse—what’s next? A raccoon posing for a selfie?
Stay tuned. Apparently, my front porch is becoming the hottest wildlife hangout in the neighborhood.
