Tanner George netted the game-winner with 4:34 remaining in regulation, sealing a 2–1 victory for the Winkler Flyers over the Swan Valley Stampeders on Friday night.
Kam Thomas got Winkler on the board early, scoring just 4:19 into the first period. Swan Valley answered late, as Ethan MacTavish buried his ninth of the season to tie it with 6:22 left.
Flyers netminder Leif Ekblad turned aside 30 of 31 shots for the win, while Easton Falls made 30 saves in the loss.
The teams clash again Saturday night at Swan River Centennial Arena.
