The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) has unveiled its roster for Team SJHL U19, ahead of the Western All-Star Challenge taking place November 3–5 at the Martensville Recreation Centre — and several local players will be representing their communities on the big stage.
Among those selected are Melville Millionaires teammates Wesley Olson and Preston Baerwald, Yorkton Terriers defenceman Thomas Ries, Whitewood’s Hudson Brehaut of the Flin Flon Bombers, Lipton’s Connor Miller of the Humboldt Broncos, and Kelvington’s Tristin Ziola of the Melfort Mustangs.
The event, featuring top players from both the SJHL and the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL), serves as an important showcase for scouts from the NHL, WHL, NCAA, and U SPORTS, and acts as a selection opportunity for Team Canada West ahead of the 2025 World Junior A Challenge in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, this December.
Team SJHL includes 20 of the league’s top young players born in 2006 or 2007, representing every corner of the province. Melfort Mustangs head coach Trevor Blevins will lead the bench, assisted by Carter Hansen of the Humboldt Broncos, with SJHL Commissioner Kyle McIntyre overseeing the event.
Fans can catch the action live at the Martensville Recreation Centre, with walk-up tickets available one hour before each game for $10 (cash only).
