STURGIS — The walls and roof have long been erected, and excitement continues with interior work at the new Sturgis Gateway Co-op store. The parking lot was also paved on Oct. 30. The store has been a year in the making, with approvals secured and construction beginning this spring.
The project’s completion is getting closer now that all coolers and freezers have been installed. Ducting is complete, and all internal walls are finished. The parking lot is fully paved, and the light standards are erected and operational.
“It is exciting to see all the progress being made,” said Brad Chambers, CEO. “The last schedule I received stated that we should be open the first part of December, but things can change.”
