RCMP in Manitoba have made an arrest in connection with the death of a teenage girl on the Opaskwayak Cree Nation (OCN)
On Nov. 1, Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) members were called to a report of an assault on the reserve, and upon arrival, they found an injured 15-year-old girl, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is being investigated as a homicide, and on Nov. 4, Mounties arrested a 17-year-old OCN girl, who remains in custody, charged with manslaughter.
The investigation continues, as MFNPS members work with The Pas RCMP Forensic Identification Services and RCMP Major Crimes Services.
