PREECEVILLE — Women’s recreation hockey is making a comeback this year with a newly formed team. The team will be known as the Preeceville Patties Women’s Rec Hockey team.
Preeceville used to have a team in the past, but it had folded due to a lack of players. This is not the case this year, with 19 women on the team. There is no league for the team, but it will face off against other recreation teams from Wadena, Yorkton and Melville. Each team will play two games at home and two away to allow equal opportunity for teams to showcase their talents.
“It is a fun way to get out on the ice and just enjoy each other's company. For some of us, it's new, and for others who have possibly played hockey before, it is a refresher and fun way to get back onto the ice,” said a representative from the team.
