The Manitoba government is increasing funding to support victims of violent crime.
In Dauphin Friday, Justice Minister Matt Wiebe announced $750-thousand in funding to support victims of homicide, sexual assault and intimate partner violence.
That money comes from the province’s Criminal Property Forfeiture (CPF) Fund, which takes money raised through the sale of seized criminal property, and distributes it to organizations that focus on safety on the community.
One organization benefiting is the Parkland Crisis Centre and Women’s Shelter in Dauphin, which is receiving CPF grant funding for the first time, to the tune of $35-thousand.
