A man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with a death on the Keeseekoose First Nation, has been sentenced.
In Yorkton Court of King’s Bench yesterday (Thu), 22-year-old Edgar Kakakaway Junior received 3285 days in prison, but with time already served in custody, he has to spend a further 1644 days behind bars.
Two other people admitted to being an accessory after the fact to murder.
In November of 2022, Kamsack RCMP were called to the Keeseekoose First Nation, where they found a 16-year-old Cote First Nation boy, dead at the scene.
