Two Yorkton products have been recognized among the best in Canadian university football.
Saskatchewan Huskies defensive lineman Reece McCormick was named a U SPORTS Second Team All‑Canadian after recording 2.5 sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss in just six games. He’ll suit up Saturday in Regina as the Huskies face Montreal in the 60th Vanier Cup.
Joining him is StFX linebacker Owen Watrych, also a Second Team All‑Canadian. Watrych led the country in tackles, won the AUS Outstanding Defensive Player Award, and was a finalist for National Defensive Player of the Year, ultimately awarded to Huskies teammate Seth Hundeby.
