Alexandro Montoya turned aside all 39 shots he faced for his first SJHL shutout, and Aidan Vallance scored twice as the Yorkton Terriers blanked the Melville Millionaires 5–0 on Saturday night to split the Highway 10 home-and-home.
Vinay Junek added a goal and two assists, while Gabriel Courchesne also found the back of the net.
Melville goalie Fuzz Aafedt made 28 saves on 33 shots in the loss. The Millionaires are back on the ice Wednesday in Warman, while the Terriers head to Estevan on Tuesday.
Elsewhere in the SJHL:
Finlay Klippenstein scored twice and Kaeden Serpa made 49 saves to backstop the Battlefords North Stars to a 2–1 win and a weekend sweep of the Humboldt Broncos.
The Nipawin Hawks rolled past the Warman Wolverines 10–1 at The Cage, led by Eric Hoiness’ two goals and an assist, Noah Derouin’s two-goal outing, and four assists from Brendan Olson.
Graham Brown stopped 41 of 43 shots and Grayden Perozni scored twice as the La Ronge Ice Wolves knocked off the Weyburn Red Wings 4–2.
The Flin Flon Bombers climbed to the top of the SJHL standings after sweeping Melfort, finishing the weekend with a 5–2 road win as Joey Lies tallied his 13th, 14th and 15th goals of the season.
