The holidays are here, and you know what that means…new Christmas movies to watch! As soon as I heard about A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, I knew exactly what I’d be watching first.
Now, before anyone says, “But the Jonas Brothers aren’t country!”, let me remind you, they’ve actually dipped into country quite a few times! Remember their duet with Rascal Flatts, “I Dare You”? Or their feature on Russell Dickerson’s “Happen To Me”? And who could forget their collab with Miley Cyrus on “Before The Storm” from their album Lines, Vines and Trying Times? So yes, the Jonas Brothers totally belong here.
Confession time: I grew up with Jonas Brothers posters covering my bedroom walls. Joe was my favourite (I mean, who could resist that hair?), then Nick, and now that I’m older, I have a soft spot for Kevin. I loved their TV show Jonas, so when I found out they were starring in a Christmas movie, I couldn’t hit play fast enough.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but wow, was I in for a treat! The movie is packed with fun surprises, including some big-name cameos: Will Ferrell, Randall Park, Laverne Cox, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Santa. The story follows the brothers as they race to get home for Christmas, and naturally, things get a little wild along the way. What I loved most was seeing the Jonas Brothers play over-the-top versions of themselves. There are plenty of musical moments (totally want Home Alone: The Musical to be real now), lots of laughs, and just the right amount of holiday cheesiness. By the end, I was crying happy tears!
A Very Jonas Christmas Movie has definitely earned its spot in my Christmas movie rotation. Even if you’re not a die-hard Jonas fan, there’s so much to enjoy, especially if you have siblings or just love a heartwarming holiday story. So grab your coziest blanket, pour some hot chocolate, and give this one a chance. Who knows? It might just become your new holiday favourite too!
