A new court date has been set for a man charged in connection with a historical sexual assault in western Manitoba.
In May, a female victim notified the Virden RCMP that she had been sexually assaulted in 1984, when she was under the age of 16, and that the suspect was 24 at the time.
On November 5, Mounties arrested 65-year-old Vincent Tacan, and charged him with sexual assault.
His case was heard in Sioux Valley Provincial Court yesterday (Wed), where it was adjourned to January 21.
