PREECEVILLE — Can you believe that Christmas has come this fast?
The weather has turned colder again, and we’ve seen some snow fall. If you are looking to have your snow cleared, give the Panther Football team a chance! They will come shovel for a donation, as they are raising money for new uniforms for next season! Give Avery a shout at 306-670-1075.
Speaking of snow, as of Dec 11, the cross-country ski trails are ready, so break out those skis and try them out! These trails are groomed regularly throughout the season, and run along the Lions Walking Trails with the Chalet at the head of the trail by the Wildlife Campground.
Preeceville Nordic is hosting a youth ski program! This will be for kids age six and up, and they will have a Jackrabbit (learn to ski) program with 10 sessions. One session each Wednesday starting Jan. 7 from 3:45 to 4:45 on the Preeceville trails. There is a $40 club membership fee and there are limited ski rentals available. Contact Kim or Megan for more info at 305-547-1349.
The Preeceville Arena has been a busy place lately. Check out the Town of Preeceville website for a full calendar of events. The U13 team welcomed Langenburg on Dec. 19, and on Dec. 20, hosted the Cote Selects.
Preeceville Minor Hockey has its major fundraiser going for the year, in the form of a progressive 50/50 draw. The winner will be drawn on Jan. 31 at the Arena. You can go to their Facebook page for a link to buy tickets, or purchase from any Preeceville Minor Hockey family. Current jackpot is around $1,500 and growing!
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Preeceville Mayor Darin Newton
