PREECEVILLE — The Preeceville Elementary School annual Christmas concert took on a different look with an afternoon performance due to an inclement snowstorm.
The show was moved to the afternoon with hopes that the students could showcase their hard work and perform for their families on Dec. 17.
Leslea Hanson, vice-principal, was the mistress of ceremonies for the afternoon. She welcomed everyone who was able to attend, followed by a land acknowledgement and the singing of O Canada.
“We are in our fifth year of fundraising for the playground and outdoor space project,” said Hanson. “The staff and students, with the help of the community, have raised about $90,000. We also received a Government of Saskatchewan Playground Grant for $50,000. We have booked the build for the end of August 2026! If you are interested in helping with making this project a reality, please contact the office in the new year or consider joining our School Community Council. We are hoping to be able to raise a bit more money to get the rubberized surfacing, so there will be some letters for donations coming out in the new year.”
The kindergarten class students performed, The Five Little Elves.
The Grade 1 and 2 classes performed Jingle Bells, with a Preeceville twist.
The Grade 2 and 3 classes performed a song called, Christmas Spark.
The Grade 3 and 4 classes performed the Eye of the Reindeer.
The Grade 5 students did a Jingle Bell Rock Anthem.
The students from Grade 6 concluded the performances with singing Call Me Santa.
