The outflow from the Shellmouth Reservoir is being increased as of Jan. 16, as part of normal operations to shrink reservoir levels, in order to be ready for spring run-off from the upper Assiniboine River.
According to Manitoba’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre, the outflow level is being bumped up, from three-hundred to four-hundred cubic feet per second.
This will result in the water level on the Assiniboine River, from Shellmouth to Brandon, to rise by half a foot, though the level will go down, as the river reaches Winnipeg.
Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure says the province will continue to track water levels on the upper Assiniboine, as well as river levels downstream.
