YORKTON — A man who was the subject of a public alert issued by Yorkton RCMP earlier this month has been arrested in Manitoba.
Police say Robert Racine was located and taken into custody by Brandon Police Service on Saturday, Jan. 24. Racine had been wanted on a warrant issued by Yorkton RCMP for being unlawfully at large.
Racine is scheduled to appear in Brandon provincial court on Feb. 2, in relation to charges laid in Manitoba. A court date for his Saskatchewan charges has not yet been set.
Yorkton RCMP first reported Racine missing on Jan. 14 after receiving a call at 11:40 a.m. reporting an escaped prisoner.
Police determined the individual, who was serving a sentence at the White Spruce Training Centre, had last been seen around 11:35 a.m. on Ball Road in Yorkton.
