STURGIS — Sturgis Composite School students from Grades 1–12 were acknowledged for their winning entries in the Norquay Legion Remembrance Day Poster and Poem contest. Betty-Lou Skogen, a representative from the Norquay Legion, made the presentation on Jan. 19.
In the Grade 1–3 category, winners were Brinley Robinson (colour poster); Xander Mongeon (black-and-white poster), Connor Prestie (black-and-white poster), and Sophia Boyko (colour poster).
In the Grade 4–6 category, winners were Kiara Poworoznyk-Bates (colour poster); Dawson Serdachny (poem); Lakyn Seerey (poem); Zia Dela Torre (black-and-white poster), and Grady Lario (colour poster).
In the Grades 7–9 category, winners were CJ Tomas (black-and-white poster and poem); Yanni Temonio (colour poster); Lucas Sather (poem); Paige Galiz (poem); Jane Palaniuk (black-and-white poster), and Amelia Maier (colour poster).
In the Grade 10–12 category, winners were Rhone Darmochid (poem); Rylee Coleman (black-and-white poster); Jake Fedorchuk (poem); Chloe Jansen (black-and-white poster), and Makayla Johnson (colour poster).
