EBB AND FLOW FIRST NATION – RCMP are investigating after a 22-year-old woman was seriously injured in a dog attack on the Ebb and Flow First Nation.
Police say officers were called at 4:10 p.m. on Feb. 14, following a report that a woman had been mauled by four dogs in the community.
According to RCMP, the woman was walking along Highway 278 when the dogs, described as a large breed, approached and attacked her.
Two people who witnessed the incident intervened, helping the woman escape the animals and return home, where she was able to call for help.
The victim suffered significant injuries and was transported to hospital in Dauphin, where she underwent surgery.
RCMP say they are working with local First Nation safety officers to identify the dogs involved in the attack.
The investigation is ongoing.
