The Living Skies Music Festival will make its Yorkton debut on Aug. 14-15 at the Yorkton Exhibition grounds, and the initial lineup has been revealed.
The festival is entering year three in Humboldt, and Tarell Sterner with the festival, says he’s excited to bring the festival to Yorkton.
Sterner says the City approached him after the most recent festival in Humboldt, calling Yorkton a “phenomenal market” with a “massive draw area” and an appetite for live music.
Yorkton Mayor Aaron Kienle says city council has been pursuing an event of this calibre for some time, adding that Humboldt Mayor Rob Muench had many positive things to say about the festival.
Kienle says the goal is to bring people together, and create a legacy event that people can look forward to year after year.
The initial artist lineup was announced Mar. 6, with Canadian country stars Dallas Smith, Jess Moskaluke and Darryl Anderson taking the stage on Aug. 14, while rock takes centre stage on Aug. 15, with more Canadian headliners – Big Sugar, Econoline Crush and Crash Test Dummies.
Limited presale tickets are on sale now, and Sterner notes more artists will be announced, leading up to the event, which will also feature food trucks and on-site camping.
