REGINA — Organizers of Canada's Farm Show are looking to build off of the success of last year's first attempt at holding the event in March, after decades of the event held in June.
"Really just kind of leaning into the successes of year one, continuing to capture whatever learning lessons we can and just honing in on the good stuff, making sure that we're doing the right things." said Cat Betker, Director of Signature Events for REAL District. "There's going to be a lot of in-show talking with guests and patrons and exhibitors, getting their feedback, getting their perspective on things, just making sure that if we've got an opportunity to make some changes, that we're leaning into those when we can and just focus on improvement."
Another aspect to build upon for Canada's Farm Show is the presence of international guests. Betker said at least nine delegations are attending the event this year from countries such as Mongolia and Kazakhstan.
"I think it's one of those pieces that we can definitely leverage more. Regina and the Province of Saskatchewan has so much to offer in terms of innovation and agricultural industry. So we would love to bring more of the world to our doors here. We want to welcome everyone." she said.
The Launch Pad will be the primary site of presentations, panel discussions, and product launches this week.
REAL District will be home to more than 300 exhibitors, including the Do More Agriculture Foundation which will be bringing its national initiatives and resources to event-goers. On Thursday afternoon, Executive Director of Do More Ag Merle Massie will be giving a presentation called "Talking to Strangers: The Power of Being Anonymous".
Canada's Farm Show is also aligning itself with the United Nations' declaration of 2026 as the International Year of the Woman Farmer, which Betker described as "phenomenal".
"I think that there's something about the strength of women in agriculture and the way that we bring community together, keep families together and just have an endurance that really speaks volumes to agriculture as an industry. So for the female farmer to be recognized in 2026, I think it's absolutely phenomenal."
Some female centred topics will be covered at the Launch Pad to mark the occasion.
Tickets are on sale and there are one-day and three-day passes available. Parking is free and even a shuttle service with participating hotels that are members of the Regina Hotels Association is available for those who are out-of-town.
A Canada's Farm Show app is now available for Android and Apple devices. The app features the event and Launch Pad schedule, list of exhibitors and more.
Overall, Betker is looking forward to this week's event.
"We're just really excited to see the halls full, see the hallways packed, have smiling faces, and just have everybody coming down and seeing just how much the event has grown in its second year with our new dates.”
SaskAgToday will be there to covering Canada's Farm Show Tuesday through Thursday.
