CANADA — Coffee lovers across Canada are double-double checking their cup collections after Health Canada issued a recall on the latest mug released by coffee chain Tim Hortons.
The mug may crack or break when in use or filled with hot liquid, posing a burn hazard to users, Health Canada said. As of March 10, the company has received 28 reports of incidents in Canada, and one report of a burn injury.
The 16-ounce white ceramic mug, with pink interior and handle, features a chocolate-dipped donut that changes colour to reveal one of four classic donut designs when warm liquid is poured inside. The mugs were available for purchase at all Tim Hortons locations and online at Timshop.ca. More than 25,000 mugs were sold in Canada between January and February of 2026.
Consumers should stop using the mug immediately and can return the product to any Tim Hortons location by April 22 for a full refund. Returns may be accepted thereafter for refund.
