The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has announced its 2025–26 year-end award winners, with the Melville Millionaires and Yorkton Terriers well represented among the league’s top honours.
While Ewan Rennie of the Estevan Bruins took home both MVP and Forward of the Year after a 78-point season, much of the spotlight locally fell on Melville and Yorkton.
In Melville, Boston Harkness was named Saskatchewan Player of the Year after an outstanding two-way season on the blue line, finishing with 48 points — tied for the league lead among defencemen.
The Millionaires also claimed the Most Sportsmanlike award for a second straight season, as Kale Margolis earned the honour. The 19-year-old led Melville with 55 points while taking just a single minor penalty all year.
Yorkton also made its mark across multiple categories.
Thomas Ries was named Defenceman of the Year after posting 16 goals and 32 assists for 48 points, tying Harkness for the top mark among SJHL defencemen while leading all blueliners in goals.
Up front, Gabriel Courchesne finished atop the league scoring race, edging Rennie, while teammate Cash Lanigan was named Rookie of the Year. The Regina product recorded 48 points in his first SJHL season, helping the Terriers secure their first division title in six years.
Elsewhere, Charlie Tritt of the Flin Flon Bombers was named Goaltender of the Year, while Connor Logan of the Battlefords North Stars earned Coach of the Year honours.
New awards were also handed out, with Jayden Villafane named Athletic Therapist of the Year, while Troy Semenchuk and Alex Clarke were recognized as Referee and Linesperson of the Year.
