Before the winter break Invermay School was lucky enough to host the RCMP & K9 Unit. At first we had K-12 sit in on a presentation and were able to watch and learn all about the K9 unit. Grades 6-12 were divided into three groups and learned about different officer duties, such as conservation officer, and a police officer. They also got to try a breathalyzer test, speed gun, try a cop uniform, and guess different animal prints.
The SRC had a fun afternoon planning a school wide movie afternoon for everyone selling Mom’s Pantry. The students sold $7,000 in Mom’s Pantry goods to have this fun afternoon. The SRC chose Home Alone for their movie!
Through December we were lucky to have Tyla Dubas, Keith Ferenal, Thea Barcelona, Madeline Graham, and Elissa Karcha work on a school-wide Truth and Reconciliation project. GSSD had a contest for which school could create the best artwork and this group came up with a turtle, and a road of Truth and Reconciliation. These artists came up with this design while working with teachers for some co-ordination.
Kindergarten to Grade 5 presented their Christmas concert on December 19, 2025. It was performed so well, and well rehearsed. Everyone had a blast watching the play!
SRC hosted a spirit day that every single student and staff had a fun time partaking in. Disney Day was held on Jan. 26, Disney themed clothes, and Disney characters were brought to life!
Throughout the school year we have had a mini volleyball tournament going on at lunch. We had a senior bracket and a junior bracket. Our senior winners were Tyla Dubas, Carson Wood, and Kashton MacLean. On the junior side, our winners were Thea Barcelona, Weston Glas, and Morgan Graham.
The SRC had a busy February! They volunteered at the Invermay Winter Festival while selling Toonie Toss, 50/50, as well as doing score clock work for hockey games, face painting, and fish pond. A couple of days later SRC hosted Valentines Day. Students were to wear their formal clothes. SRC put on a photoshoot, and had a dance in the gym.
Invermay School hosted their annual Telemiracle carnival. This year's theme was the Winter Olympics. Students went around the school and participated in many different activities. We are proud to donate $2,100 to Telemiracle 50!
