For the first time in program history, the Battlefords Sharks are Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League champions.
Sarah McNabb scored the game-winner early in the third period, while Brook Weber added a pair of late insurance goals to lead the Sharks to a 3-0 victory over the Swift Current Wildcats, completing a two-game sweep of the best-of-three final.
Aura Sembalerus turned aside all 34 shots she faced for the shutout, giving her five combined shutouts across the regular season and playoffs.
With the win, the Sharks advance to the Esso Cup West Regionals, where they will face the winner of the Manitoba league final between the Winnipeg Ice and Eastman Selects. The regional winner moves on to the 2026 Esso Cup National Championships, set for April 19th to 25th in Dieppe, New Brunswick.
Local talent on the Sharks roster includes Melville products Anneka Aspaas and Savannah Mucha.
