EDGELEY — Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP are investigating the deaths of two individuals after a rollover and a collision.
On March 28 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP received a report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Highway 10, west of Edgeley.
Officers immediately responded to the collision, which involved a vehicle and a woman who was on the road. The woman was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Later that morning, officers located a damaged vehicle in a nearby slough. A deceased man was located inside. It is believed that the vehicle had left the roadway and rolled. Further investigation determined the man and the woman had been travelling in the vehicle together. This rollover is not believed to be connected to the initial collision reported to police.
The man and woman are both 20 years old and from Yorkton. Their families have been notified.
Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP continue to investigate the incident with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist, and in consultation with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
