Melville Millionaires captain Boston Harkness is taking the next step in his career, committing to the University of Regina for the 2026–27 Canada West season.
The 20-year-old defenceman leaves a strong mark on the SJHL, totaling 95 points in 223 regular-season games, along with five points in 14 playoff appearances—all with the Millionaires.
A product of White City, Saskatchewan, Harkness put together a standout final season, recording 10 goals and 48 points in 54 games, finishing tied for the league lead in scoring among defencemen. His performance earned him the 2026 Canterra Seeds SJHL Saskatchewan Player of the Year honours, along with a spot on the SJHL First-Team All-Star roster.
The 6-foot-3, 209-pound blueliner also represented the league on the international stage, helping Team SJHL capture gold at the 2026 Viking Cup in Camrose.
Originally selected in the third round, 32nd overall, in the 2020 SJHL Draft out of Prairie Storm U15AA, Harkness now moves on to U SPORTS hockey with the Cougars, capping off an impressive junior career.
