The Flin Flon Bombers have done exactly what they needed to on home ice, taking the first two games of the 2026 SJHL Canterra Seeds Cup Final.
After a 7–3 win in Friday’s opener, the Bombers followed it up with a more disciplined effort in Game 2, shutting out the Yorkton Terriers 3–0 to take a 2–0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Both teams had early power-play looks but couldn’t capitalize, with Yorkton’s penalty kill holding strong. Flin Flon broke through late in the first, as Reid Arberry finished a rebound off a point shot from Callum Creig for his fifth of the playoffs, giving the Bombers a 1–0 lead after one—despite Yorkton holding an 11–4 edge in shots.
The Bombers extended their lead early in the second, when Maverick Deslisle tucked a sharp-angle shot just inside the short side for his third of the postseason, making it 2–0 through forty minutes.
In the third, Connor Miller provided insurance on the power play, jamming home a loose puck for his team-leading ninth of the playoffs. Yorkton challenged the play for offside, but after a lengthy review, the goal stood.
Charlie Tritt was perfect in the Bombers’ net, turning aside all 19 shots he faced for his third shutout of the postseason. At the other end, Callum Creig made 34 saves on 37 shots in the loss.
The series now shifts to Westland Insurance Arena in Yorkton for Games 3 and 4.
It will mark the Terriers’ first home Finals games since 2014, with a packed and energized crowd expected as they look to claw their way back into the series.
