STURGIS — The St. Patrick’s, Sturgis Council of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada attended the celebration of their patron saint, Our Lady of Good Counsel, on April 26 at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Sturgis.
New members who were presented with a CWL pin were Shirley Weimer and Yvonne Rediger.
The Preeceville CWL members have now joined Sturgis, with members Laura Sliva, Zita Serhan, Beatrice Sekel, Diane Mateush, Natasha Lingl, Arlene Lingl, Nellie Knihniski, Mandy Huska, Donna Balawyder and Norma Appel, who were all welcomed and received a pin.
A past president pin was presented to Norma Appel and Nellie Knikniski, and a 10-year pin was presented to Natasha Lingl.
Years of service were recognized at a Mass ceremony for Carole Hauber (55 years); Arlene Lingl and Ruth Popowich (20 years); and Majken Mallow and Beatrice Sekel (15 years).
Following the Eucharistic celebration, parishioners enjoyed cake and fellowship in the lower part of the hall.
