PREECEVILLE — Many highways in the northwest part of the province have been closed due to water damage.
The Rural Municipality of Buchanan has declared a state of emergency, and in the RM of Preeceville, Hazel Dell and Good Lakes have had to take immediate action to close many grid roads in the surrounding areas.
Motorists have had to find alternative routes that increase travel times by an hour or more.
"The RM of Preeceville has had to cut two roads and put up numerous washed-out road closed signs. Overall, we are not as bad as the southwest area of the region, but it could be subject to change," said RM of Preeceville Reeve Reg Yaremchuk.
