The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed five members of their 2026 CFL Draft class, continuing to build depth ahead of training camp.
The group includes receiver Dylan Djete (second round, 18th overall), offensive lineman Darius Bell (third round, 29th overall), linebacker Osasere Odemwingie (fourth round, 38th overall), offensive lineman Jez Janvier (fifth round, 47th overall) and receiver Shemar McBean (seventh round, 65th overall).
Djete, a native of Lévis, Quebec, spent his final collegiate season at Alabama State in 2025, recording 28 receptions for 422 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games. Prior to that, he played three seasons at Wofford, totaling 56 catches for 772 yards and four scores. He also posted a 4.6-second 40-yard dash at the 2026 CFL Combine.
Bell brings size and versatility to the offensive line at six-foot-five and 300 pounds. He played the last two seasons at East Carolina, appearing in 21 games with 19 starts. After beginning his time with the Pirates at left guard, he shifted to centre in his senior season and allowed just three sacks over two years. He was also part of two Go Bowling Military Bowl championship teams. Before transferring, Bell spent three seasons at Maine, starting games at multiple positions along the offensive line.
Odemwingie developed into one of the top defenders in Canada West during his time with the University of Calgary. The linebacker suited up for 31 games with the Dinos, collecting 253 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss and three sacks. He followed up an 82-tackle campaign in 2024 with 62 tackles in his final season and also competed in the 2025 East-West Bowl.
Janvier, a Montreal product, split his collegiate career between Eastern Michigan and Southern Mississippi. After playing both offensive and defensive line earlier in his career, he transitioned full-time to the offensive line and did not allow a sack in 2024 while starting five games. He appeared in six games during his senior season at Southern Mississippi.
McBean joins the Riders after a productive four-year run at UBC. The Calgary native played 41 games, totaling 158 receptions for 2,477 yards and 13 touchdowns. In 2025, he recorded 49 catches for 792 yards and four scores in nine games. McBean was named a Canada West All-Conference receiver in 2025 and earned all-conference honours as both a receiver and returner in 2023. He also impressed at the 2025 East-West Bowl with 142 receiving yards and a touchdown on three catches.
The five signings add a mix of national talent on both sides of the ball as Saskatchewan continues to shape its roster heading into the 2026 season.
