YORKTON — Update, May 20: Saskatoon Police Service arrested wanted man Duncan Highway on May 17 in Saskatoon.
He appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on May 19.
Original post, May 15: Yorkton RCMP is asking the public to report sightings of wanted man Duncan Highway.
On May 14, at approximately 7:05 p.m., Yorkton RCMP received a report of an escaped prisoner.
The investigation determined the prisoner, who is serving a sentence at the Whitespruce Provincial Training Centre, was last seen at the facility May 14 at 6:15 p.m. A black GMC Terrain SUV was seen picking up Duncan Highway after he left Whitespruce Provincial Training Centre.
Since receiving the report, Yorkton RCMP have been searching for the prisoner, checking places he is known to frequent and following up on information received.
As a result of the continued investigation, 34-year-old Duncan Highway is now charged with one count, being unlawfully at large.
Officers continue searching for him and ask the public to report all sightings and information on his whereabouts, or information on the black SUV.
Duncan Highway is described as approximately 6’ 1” and 178 lbs. He has brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen in black clothing.
Police say they are working to obtain a photo of him.
He has connections to Saskatoon, but his current whereabouts are unknown.
