BROADVIEW – A new court date has been set for a man arrested following an armed confinement and assault on the Kahkewistahaw First Nation.
Anthony Kinistino, 44, was in Broadview Provincial Court June 3, where he was remanded in custody for a bail hearing on June 10.
On May 27, Broadview RCMP received a report that a woman was being held against her will by an armed man at a residence at Kahkewistahaw.
Investigators say the woman was assaulted and threatened with a firearm, while being prevented from leaving the residence.
