8:01 p.m.
Incomplete pass over the middle, and that's the ball game. Holy cow, what can you say about the first two weeks of the CFL. Saskatchewan finds a way to pull out the win in a game they almost let get away. 31-27 Roughriders.

7:59 p.m.
Incomplete pass with everyone in Rourke's face, but Butler has a catch to the 33, down to four seconds remaining.

7:58 p.m.
A drop and nine-yard pass to McInnis gets B.C. down to their last life, but Rourke runs for 18 for a first down up to the Riders 41 with 14 seconds remaining.

7:56 p.m.
TOUCHDOWN ROUGHRIDERS! Shades of the West Final, Trevor Harris drives the length of the field in the final three minutes, only this time he finds Sam Emilus wide open in the back of the end zone for his third TD of the game. What can you even say at this point? 11 plays, 82 yards, 31-27 Saskatchewan. Now the defence has to do their thing with 48 seconds left.

7:52 p.m.
Oh Em Gee. Emilus has a catch for 29 yards down the sideline, first and goal at the B.C. 10 with 1:13 remaining

7:51 p.m.
Passes to Jalen Johnson and KSB get the Riders up to the B.C. 35 with 1:13 remaining.

7:49 p.m.
KSB has a catch for nine, Stevens plunges for two, Riders first down at the B.C. 46 with 2:02 remaining.

7:45 p.m.
An incomplete pass to Ouellette is challenged by the Riders after AJ is contacted on his seam route. The ruling on the field is overturned, Riders end up with the ball on their own 30. One play later, KeeSean has a catch at the sidelines to the Riders 42 with 2:48 remaining.

7:42 p.m.
Emilus gets a catch up to the Riders 45, but a holding penalty brings it back to the 18 at the three-minute warning.

7:40 p.m.
Riders opt for a kickoff and end up scrimmaging from their own 28 with 3:27 to play.

7:36 p.m.
Touchdown B.C.  Riders stuff Horvath on second and goal, but Butler runs it in on third down. Eight plays, 70 yards, 27-24 B.C. with 3:42 remaining in the game. The collapse is complete, now can the Riders find a way to get a comeback?

7:34 p.m.
Rourke runs for eight to get down to the six and Thurman has a run up the middle for five to the Riders one.

7:32 p.m.
After a couple of penalties, B.C. is at their 49 and get off a pass over the middle for McInnis down to the Riders 21.

7:27 p.m.
Short pass and near interception on an overthrown pass to a wide-open KeeSean and the drive stalls. Hale has a 22 yard field goal attempt and it's good. 24-20 Saskatchewan with 8:07 remaining in the fourth quarter.

7:25 p.m.
Huge play for the Riders, and who else. KSB hauls in a pass over the middle and goes all the way down to the 16. He's over 150 yards receiving on the day. Riders are back in the red zone.

7:20 p.m.
Passes to McInnis, Hatcher and Berryhill in the no huddle shotgun get B.C. down to the Riders 13. The defence holds, though, holding Butler to a four yard run and Vaughters then getting his first sack witht he Roughriders. Whyte has a 23-yard field goal, it's good. 21-20 Saskatchewan with 10:59 left in the game..

7:15 p.m.
Hale has a 42-yard field goal attempt and it's wide right, B.C. concedes the rouge, 21-17 Saskatchewan at the end of the third quarter.

7:13 p.m.
B.C. challenges the next play, which was a first down catch by Duncan-Busby that he fumbled and apparently recovered. The catch was already being called back due to a holding penalty, and the challenge fails.Riders ball on the B.C. 34, second and 18. 

7:09 p.m.
A run for 12 by Ouellette, catch for six by KSB and 12-yard catch by KSB — his 10th catch of the night — gets the Riders into field goal range at the B.C. 36 with 1:25 left in the third quarter.

7:05 p.m.
First pass of the drive is batted down by Rose, and the Riders get home for the first sack of the game on the next play. B.C. punts from their own 17, but it's too many men on the field for Saskatchewan, and the Lions punt again from their own 27. Riders get the ball back on their 44.

7:00 p.m.
Riders go two and out after a short pass and incompletion over the middle. B.C. gets the ball back on their own 22.

6:59 p.m.
Decent return by Letcher sees the Riders starting their next drive at their own 49.

6:56 p.m.
Touchdown B.C. Hatcher catches a short pass and goes 25 yards to the 18, unnecessary roughness penalty gets it down to the three, Butler runs it in to the outside with ease. Four plays, 70 yards, 20-17 Saskatchewan with 7:16 left in the third quarter. Riders need to figure out what was working earlier and get back to it, because this one is slipping away.

6:52 p.m.
A 12-yard pass to Poissant and 15-yard pass to Cottoy and B.C. is in Riders territory at the 46.

6:48 p.m.
B.C. gets the job done on two short passes and nearly have a pick by Lee on near KSB touchdown catch. Hale has a 16 yard field goal attempt, it's good, Riders lead 20-10 with 8:56 left in the third quarter.

6:45 p.m.
AJ runs for five, KSB catches a six yard pass and the Riders are first and goal at the nine.

6:44 p.m.
A huge pass over the middle to Emilus for 39 yards and the Riders are in red zone business again down to the B.C. 20. 

6:40 p.m.
Two and out, with a near interception by Woods on second down. B.C. punts, Riders get the ball back on their own 33.

6:39 p.m.
B.C. gets the ball on their own 26 yard line to start the second half. 

6:38 p.m.
Ah man, Milligan Jr. has his arm in a sling with an icebag on his shoulder, so his day is done. Hardrick is on the sideline, though, so we'll see if he's back in.

6:21 p.m.
A short run by Ouellette sees Hardrick injure his left leg, but he walks off under his own power. A 13-yard run by Ouellette one play later brings the first half to a close 17-10 Saskatchewan at halftime.

6:18 p.m.
Campbell baits Rourke into throwing to the sideline and has the ball hit his hands, but it's dropped and B.C. punts, Riders get the ball on their own eight after two penalties for holding and roughing with 34 seconds left in the half.

6:16 p.m.
Berryhill gets a huge catch and run down to the Riders 17, but the first penalty of game for facemasking calls it back and B.C is back on their own 26 with 1:03 remaining.

6:11 p.m.
Saskatchewan goes two-and-out, after Chapman's first career punt B.C. has the ball back at their own 20 with 1:55 left in the half.

6:10 p.m.
Riders start their next drive at their own 43 with 2:13 to play in the second quarter.

6:09 p.m.
Touchdown B.C. Nathan Rourke shows why he's the reigning MOP, avoiding an initial sack and then getting pushed into the end zone in a pack for a 15-yard touchdown. Nine plays, 70 yards, 17-10 Saskatchewan with 2:21 remaining in the first half.

6:03 p.m.
Riders nearly get an interception on the next play, but a nine-yard pass to Horvath gets the Lions into the red zone at the 17-yard line.

6:01 p.m.
Cottoy has 17-yard catch to get B.C. into Riders territory at the 53 and two plays later, McInnis has a 25-yard catch down to the Sask 25. McInnis has five catches for 71 yards in the first half. Milligan Jr. is banged up on the play but leaves under his own power.

5:56 p.m.
Harris is sacked for a couple yard loss and the drive stalls there. Hale has a 35-yard field goal, and he has his first in the CFL. 17-3 Saskatchewan with 5:25 left in the first half.

5:53 p.m.
KeeSean for eight, KeeSean for 37, and the Riders are down to the B.C. 25 in two plays.

5:50 p.m.
Incomplete pass to the sideline, short pass to McInnis and B.C. drive stalls at the Riders 17. Whyte has a 25-yard field goal attempt, it's good, 14-3 Saskatchewan with 8:38 to play in the first half.

5:47 p.m.
B.C. starts their second drive of the game (!) and a 25-yard pass to Berryhill and 17-yard pass to McInnis gets the Lions into Riders territory at the 41.

5:44 p.m.
TOUCHDOWN ROUGHRIDERS! Unreal protection by the o-line gives Harris all day to find a target, Emilus comes back to his QB and hauls in the TD. It's hard to describe just how dominant the Riders offence has looked on their first two drives. That one was 12 plays and 109 yards, taking seven minutes off the clock. Goodness gracious.

5:41 p.m.
First play of the second quarter goes to KeeSean for 24 yards, and the Riders are in the red zone at the B.C. three.

5:37 p.m.
Another big catch for KSB for 28 yards, all the way down to the B.C. 27. He's already at five catches for 75 yards at the end of the first quarter. Harris is also off to a hot start, completing nine of 10 passes for 115 yards. Safe to say this is exactly the start Saskatchewan was hoping for!

5:33 p.m.
Couple short passes to KSB and KeeSean, few decent runs by Ouellette and the Riders are once again moving, nearly at midfield.

5:28 p.m.
Riders defence steps up as Sayles breaks up a deep pass and a sort pass to McInnis ends up well short of the first down. Punt is a perfect one, though, pinning the Riders at their own two yard line with 5:11 to play in the first quarter.

5:26 p.m.
Three plays, including a 16-yard pass to McInnis and B.C. is in to Riders territory at the 51.

5:21 p.m.
B.C. starts their first drive of the season from their own 27.

5:20 p.m.
TOUCHDOWN ROUGHRIDERS! Oh my heavens was that surgical. Emilus beats his man off the line and is wide open, make a leaping catch over a defender for the first major of the season. Nine plays, eight for positive yardage, 64 yards. 7-0 Riders with 9:11 to go in the first quarter.

5:17 p.m.
Jalen Johnson has his first catch as a Rider down to the BC 11, and the Riders are in the red zone!

5:15 p.m.
AJ has a short run, KSB has a 14-yard catch, and the Riders are well into field goal position at the 24.

5:13 p.m.
Back to back pass completions to KSB and KeeSean, a couple short runs by Stevens and Riders are into BC territory at the 45.

5:11 p.m.
Kickoff, and Riders start their first series of the season on their own 56.

5:10 p.m.
Well, that was pretty cool! That 25 banner looks awful nice up there next to its brethern!

5:05 p.m.
B.C. wins the toss and defers to the second half, the Riders have the ball first — and now, it's time for the Grey Cup banner unveiling!

4:56 p.m.
Here are Luc's Three Keys to the Game:
1 – Offence has to carry the team for a bit, have to start fast for at least the first couple weeks as the defence coalesces.
2 – The defensive line needs to stay disciplined on the edges. Keep Rourke contained, watch for screens, play smart.
3 – Have to have a clean snap to kick process. With new players in every spot involving kicking and punting, having the snapper, holder and kicker all working the same page will be crucial.

4:44 p.m.
Barney starts the All Bets Are Off segment by reporting that the tailgate party is already impressive, with fans planning together to make it even bigger and better next game. As for the odds, take the over at 52.5 just based on what's happened in other Week 1 and 2 games. And Barney expects such a close game, he's taking the tie on SportsSelect!

4:24 p.m.
All the time off since the end of the preseason has helped the Riders come into Week 1 with almost all of their starters healthy, with linebacker Nick Wiebe (head) one of the only marquee names on the sideline. So the Riders will have their best out there on opening night!

2:12 p.m.
It's going to be a slightly cool and definitely windy evening, with temperatures expected to be around 18 C at kick-off and falling to 15 C by game's end. Winds will be noticeable throughout, coming from the northwest at 30 km/h with gusts up to 50 km/h. No rain is expected with a mix of sun and cloud, and the air quality reading is zero.

2:00 p.m.
The time is finally, finally here.

It’s the first game of the season. It’s a celebration of a Grey Cup championship. It’s the Saskatchewan Roughriders taking on the B.C. Lions at Mosaic Stadium!

It’s been a long and well-documented wait for the Roughriders and Lions, who went through a Week 1 bye to open the Canadian Football League season. That meant three weeks off for the Riders after their final exhibition game during Preseason Week 2, while the Lions had a slightly less onerous slate of down time thanks to playing a game in Week 3.

Saskatchewan split their two preseason games, falling 20-15 to the Calgary Stampeders back on May 18 and then defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 31-27 at Griffiths Stadium in Saskatoon on May 23.

The Lions also had a win and a loss in the preseason, falling 34-16 to Edmonton in Week 2 and defeating Winnipeg 30-19 in Week 3.

The two teams famously last met in the West Division Final last fall, which saw the Roughriders take a 23-21 last-second touchdown victory. That led to Saskatchewan’s Grey Cup win a week later, and the celebrations that will take place tonight — with the championship banner officially raised to the rafters at Mosaic Stadium during a special pregame ceremony.
