CANORA – During April Invermay’s senior badminton team was working hard on the court!
We had many make it to district badminton on April 22. Kashton and Weston in boys doubles, Jasmin and Caidence in girls doubles, Cassidy and Cassandra in girls doubles, Samantha in girls singles, and Michael in boys singles! Congratulations to all that worked hard. Cassidy and Cassandra ended up second in districts and made it to regionals on May 2nd! Congratulations girls!
The junior badminton team has been working really hard and they had two teams make it to districts on April 28. Congratulations on Paisley for making it in girls singles, as well as Hanna and Caidence in girls doubles. At districts Caidence and Hana came home with a silver medal! Congratulations.
Before Mother’s Day the Invermay Red Cross group gave flowers to the residents at the health center.
SRC hosted a fun spirit day to welcome the spring weather on May 8. Everyone got to dress up in floral prints and flowers.
May 13 was a busy day for our track and field athletes. They competed at the pre-district track and field meet in Yorkton. The strong winds were not helpful but we had 33 athletes move on to districts. Our top 8 finishers from districts on May 26-27 were:
- Princess: sixth in discus
- Lexi: seventh in discus
- Brielle: second in high jump, third in triple jump
- Morgan: seventh in triple jump, third in hurdles, sixth in discus
- Bennett: seventh in discus
- Keith: fourth in triple jump, fifth in 100m
- Paisley: third in discus, third in javelin
- Damien: fifth in 400m and 800m, sixth in senior boys relay
- Carson: eighth in javelin, fourth in shot put
- Caidence: fourth in javelin
- Olivia: fourth in 200m, 400m and hurdles, eighth in 800m, second in intermediate girls relay
- Hanna: fourth in long jump, fifth in hurdles, second in intermediate girls relay
- Michael: fifth in 100m, sixth in senior boys relay
- Kashton: sixth in shot put, third in discus, seventh in javelin
- Dawn: seventh in 100m
- Addison: third in hurdles, fifth in long jump, fourth in triple jump
- Jasmin: seventh in long jump, fourth in javelin, eighth in triple jump
- Cassidy: fourth in discus, fifth in shot put
- Angelo: fifth in long jump, fourth in triple jump, sixth in senior boys relay
- Madeline: fourth in shot put
- Samantha: third in hurdles, fifth in javelin

Congratulations to all athletes that competed. This year we had eight athletes that placed top 2 at districts to move on to provincials June 5 and 6 in Saskatoon! Way to go Eagles:

We had an athlete who got the most points at this year’s ECDAA track and field meet. This award is called the aggregate award and is given to the top scoring person in each boys and girls age group. Michael Mesias won it for junior voys. Congratulations Michael!
Coach Kent Seerey has been busy working with the young groups on their track and field skills, which means we had many Eagles being represented in Grades 4 and 5, on June 10 at the GSSD showcase track and field meet, including:
