EAST-CENTRAL SASKATCHEWAN — Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for parts of east-central Saskatchewan.
According to the warning, at 4:21 p.m. on June 28, Environment Canada meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally-intense rainfall are also possible.
Environment Canada said a tornado was reported 20 kilometres north of Wronxton. It was between Veregin and Kamsack, and tracking towards Badgerville and St. Philips.
A second severe thunderstorm was located 15 kilometres northeast of Rhein and was moving towards Veregin.
"This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation," Environment Canada said.
Communities in the RMs of Cote, Keys, Sliding Hills and St. Phillips are covered by the tornado warning.
