PREECEVILLE — The Preeceville School honoured 19 graduates in a ceremony at the Preeceville Community Hall that featured the presentation of scrolls and scholarship awards on June 19.
The program kicked off with the introduction of each graduate and their parents, who escorted them to the stage area.
Jenna Anaka was escorted by her parents, Kristen and Gary Anaka. Her future plans are to attend the University of Regina to pursue a degree in education.
Marjorie Bartel was escorted by her parents, Trevor and Welma Bartel. Her future plans are to attend the University of Saskatchewan, where she has been accepted into the Bachelor of Science psychology program with an entrance scholarship of $5,000. From this, she hopes to pursue a career in sports or forensic psychology.
Erron Bochnuik was escorted by his parents, Earl and Doreen Bochnuik, and plans to continue advancement through the workforce, possibly in the pipeline or construction industry.
Tess Covlin was escorted by her parents, Janeen and Sam Covlin, and plans to enter the workforce as a heavy equipment operator. Looking further ahead, she hopes to pursue a career in massage therapy.
Avery Franklin was escorted by his parents, Cary and Karri Franklin. Avery began his electrical apprenticeship and has been accepted into the Electrical Apprenticeship program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic starting in January. He hopes to one day own and operate his own electrical business.
Paul Gatchalian was escorted by his parents, Paula and Leo. After graduating from high school, Paul plans to work for a while before attending college.
Renato Goossen was escorted by his parents, Lucelia and Darryl Goossen. He plans to pursue a career in biotechnology at the U of S, but is taking a year to gain work experience.
Ralph Grasparil was escorted by his mother, Katrina Jaway, and Alfie Jaimes. His future plans are to begin an apprenticeship, and he hopes to help his father grow the family business while building a successful future for himself.
Sarah Faye Masko was escorted by her parents, Sheri and Colin Masko. This fall, Sarah plans to attend Briercrest College, where she will continue her basketball career while pursuing her education.
Alexander Nicholas Neilson was escorted by his parents, Trevor and Lisa Neilson. Alexander's future plans are working with a local farmer and then going custom combining in the United States this summer. Eventually, he hopes to have a farm of his own.
Isabelle Payette was escorted by her parents, Tracy Strijak and Trenton Grzech. Isabelle is excited to continue to explore her interests and develop her knowledge through a gap year after graduating. With determination and passion, she is confident in achieving her goal of working with animals in the future.
Alex Prestie was escorted by his parents, Heather and Peter Prestie. After school, Alex will be working for a year locally and then aspires to join the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency as a wildland firefighter.
Kacey Heskin was escorted by her parents, Kelly and Brandi Heskin. Kacey plans to begin an apprenticeship as she continues working toward her goal of becoming a journeyman electrician.
Lexi Prouse was escorted by her parents, Tammy Pantiuk and Ryan Prouse. Lexi will attend the University of Saskatchewan, where she has been accepted into the College of Arts and Science – Nursing Preparation program. Ultimately, she plans to pursue a career in the medical field, beginning with a bachelor of science in nursing degree and working toward becoming a nurse practitioner.
Yohan Quibod was escorted by his parents, Rhea Parcon and Marti Quibod. Yohan is committed to the University of Calgary for a bachelor's in both sociology and biochemistry.
Amber Spray was escorted by her parents, Brett and Krystal Spray. She has received an entrance scholarship from the University of Alberta, the Affinity for Community scholarship through Affinity Credit Union, the South Country Equipment scholarship through 4-H Saskatchewan, and the G3 Grow Beyond Scholarship. Amber has signed with the University of Alberta track and field team and will be pursuing a degree in animal science in hopes of becoming a veterinarian.
Justice Stittle was escorted by his parents, Cassandra Lindsay, stepfather Nathan McRae and his father Tyler Stittle. Looking toward the future, Justice plans to get rich and live a wealthy life.
Kiya Tucker Papastesis was escorted by her father, Jeff Tucker, and will join the workforce with a focus on mental health.
Renier van Niekerk was escorted by his parents, Michelle van Niekerk and Renier van Niekerk. He wishes to pursue a career in mechanical engineering and is exploring his options for which post-secondary institution to attend.
Members of the 2026 graduating class were Jenna Anaka, Marjorie Bartel, Erron Bochnuik, Tess Covlin, Avery Franklin, Paul Gatchalian, Renato Goossen, Ralph Grasparil, Kacey Heskin, Sarah Masko, Alexander Neilson, Isabelle Payette, Alex Prestie, Lexi Prouse, Yohan Quibod, Amber Spray, Justice Stittle, Kiya Tucker and Renier van Niekerk.
Dallas Burym was the speaker and Lexi Prouse was the graduating class valedictorian.
Shaune Beatty, superintendent of school operations, gave the Good Spirit School Division Board address and presented the graduation scrolls, accompanied by Mindi Meadows, principal.
The program concluded with a grand march of graduates and their escorts, followed by a parent dance.
